Juan Pablo Guanipa was released after 261 days of imprisonment by the Venezuelan dictatorship. Upon his release, Guanipa immediately addressed the press, accompanied several motorcades, and joined relatives of other political prisoners who were camping outside various detention centers. He also engaged with his followers on social media, whose posts quickly gained traction. He also took the opportunity to give interviews to journalists, recounting his experience in captivity.
Currently, Juan Pablo Guanipa is under house arrest with an ankle monitor. His son, Ramón Guanipa, confirmed this on social media and described his second arrest, which occurred hours after his release. He recounted how several unidentified individuals approached and threatened Juan Pablo Guanipa and his companions with firearms. From there, he was taken to the Mariperez police station, where he had previously been held, he was flown the next day to his home in Maracaibo.
